PARTICIPATION IN ATHLETICS

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Parsippany High School students interested in participating in a school sport must complete the following requirements:

1. Complete information using one of the following Packet Links:

A. PACKET A is for any student whose physical exam will be expired (more than 365 days old) PRIOR to the first day of official practice.

B. PACKET B is for any student whose last physical exam is still within the 365 day requirement by the first day of official practice.

Please download the appropriate packet for your student, complete all required forms and return the appropriate paperwork to the nurse’s office to allow ample time for the school physician to review and approve your student’s eligibility to participate.

If your student athlete suffers from asthma, allergies requiring an EpiPen or any other type of medical condition requiring medication, you must also download the appropriate forms.

These forms MUST be completed by your physician and attached to the physical packet. These forms, as well as additional explanations are located on the district's Athletic Forms webpage or may be picked up from the nurse’s office.

2. Proof of our ImPACT Test is required for all incoming ninth graders and will be renewed every two years, as well as new students. This will be renewed in conjunction with our athletic trainer when necessary. Instructions on accessing ImPact testing are found here.

3. Online registration via the Parent Portal within Genesis. This portion must be completed every season.

2. Click on Forms
3. Click on Athletics: Participation and Consent forms
4. Complete all forms, select sport, submit

In an effort to act in a proactive manner to provide a safe environment for our athletes, coaches, and spectators, Parsippany High School is enacting a No Open Container Policy for home Football games. All open containers must be consumed or discarded prior to entering the gates. All sealed containers may be carried into the contest. This policy began on October 5, 2007. Parsippany High School is a smoke free and pet free facility.
